Lately it sure seems that girls are taking over country music. Many girls such as Kelsea Ballerini, Danielle Bradbery, and RaeLynn are lighting up the genre with a fiery passion, and drive to let their voices be heard. Baylor Wilson is no exception to this. You may not know much of her, but soon you will. She’s everything that country music wants, and pours out great potential on her new EP Living Right.

Wilson kicks off the 4 track EP with a fun country dance beat “Good Love”. The track speaks of a fun, free spirited feel good kind of love that we all can relate to. Wilson’s vocals are exceptional and it makes the listener want to hang on to every word she’s saying. Wilson is already off to a great start and she doesn’t stop there.

Following “Good Love” is the title track of the EP, which gives the listener every reason to want to live right. She belts out a good country chorus that will be stuck in your head for days. It’s a pop/country track, but it’s hard to put a finger on musicality when her powerful country tone overshadows it all. Certainly this isn’t a bad thing. What stands out the most when it comes to Wilson is her ability to sing.

With two upbeat songs, Wilson tones it down a bit in “Turn Around,” a track focusing on a love lost. “I’m good at being fine / but I wanna look into your eyes one last time / so turn around / turn around / at least pretend you’ll miss me / baby / show me how / show me how / you’re making this look so easy / not trying to stop you or put you down / just turn around” Wilson belts out in the chorus begging her lover to stay just a little longer. It’s an uptempo heartfelt track but you can feel emotion in the country girls voice, which should make any boy reconsider.

The EP closer is a cover of Sam Hunt’s “Speakers,” but when Wilson sings it, you’d think she was the one who wrote it. It’s a beautiful cover wrapped up with a catchy melody and a vulnerable voice.

With every note sung, Wilson proves that she’s made country music, and we have a feeling this is only the beginning for her. She has incredible potential, and one thing we know for sure is that Living Right won't be the last time you will be hearing from Wilson. Watch out world, Baylor Wilson is on her way to the top.
